Today is a Sunday at the fire station. We don't have classes are anything scheduled today so it's a lazy day. We had a rookie today, his name is Justin Young. We cooked Red snapper that William Culpepper caught on a trip to the coast. It turned out pretty good. We had a slow day with only one call before bed time. Today was a day of ice tea and conversation.

Lisa and I spent the day working in our yard. I hired a guy to help us and he was a big help. We cleaned all the flowerbeds, mowed, edged, trimmed the shrubs and blew off all the concrete. We filled up 20 trash cans with debris. Oh first thing this morning Lisa helped me edit the video I put together for our church. We are having a one day food drive and I took a video camera strapped it to a shopping buggy and pushed it all inside of the CCA pantry. The theme is Dare you to move sang by Switchfoot. The flowers in today's picture were from Megan to Lisa and a pan of brownies to thank her for all that she does to help them out.
Megan brought Lisa flowers to thank her for all the help moving and setting up thier new house.

After church we headed to the house and ate left overs from the night before. Lisa & Megan left to go to Dallas to shop and out together idea for decorating Megan & Paul's house. At 7pm I had to go to the church for a deacon's meeting and I got home at 9pm.

Today is a fire station day. The picture today is of Terry Wilcox. We received an email today saying that after 37 1/2 years as a firefighter at Lewisville. He started to work here straight out of High School. Also I got the news that I'm going home. Back to station 4 the district that I live in. There are a lot of people being moved around on our shift. I am glad to be going back to station 4 it feels a lot like going home. My new driver is still off from his 5 bypass heart surgery and 3 stints. One of my firefighters that will be at station 4 David Wright came back to work from having a stint put in. I guess we are all going to have to figure out how to eat and excerise. The video that I posted was of a fake mouse that we put in the cabnet tied to the door so that when you open it the mouse jumps out.

How did I get so much stuff done today? After my morning coffee and shower I took trash and recycling to the curb. I gathered a few tools and met with Ronnie Alexander at the house our bible study class is working on this Saturday. Ronnie and I took down the backyard fence and set new post so we can nail pickets on on Saturday. I came home after noon showered and put the car seats in Lisa's car. Lisa took off after lunch so we could take Kimberly, Eden & Dahlia sipping in Grapevine Tx. We had a good time but it was misting rain so we gave up and went to eat lunch. We got one piece of a multilayer chocolate cake and 3 of us shared it. The picture today is Eden in Lisa's lap holding the dollar that I gave him. Now he one step closer to his first million dollars.

After getting off work I rushed home to have coffee with my beautiful bride. After she left for work I started some laundry. I had to burn a DVD with the video I put together for a one day food drive at our church. After coming back home and rotating laundry from washer to dryer I went to Denton Tx. to visit mom at the Hospital. I wish that I was able to express how it feels to visit mom in this type of hospital. Its sad to see so many people in one place suffering mental illness. When my visit was over I stopped by the house to pick up our paper work for filling our taxes. The lady in the picture has been doing my taxes since I was 13 years old. Except for the year I lived in Alabama and the year a tax attorney. Her name is Mary Mason and she did mom & dad's taxes &my grandmother.

Today is a fire station day and this is the view of the sunrise that we get most mornings. There are few things that I will miss about station 6, if and when I ever leave it but sunsets will be top of my list. Sometimes a sunrise feels like a message sent to you straight from God's lips saying this is a new day made just for you. It's like a new beginning every time the sun peeks over the horizon. Another thing it reminds me of is how life is fleeting. If you ever try to photograph a sun rise or setting of the sun you know how there is just a brief second that it's perfect to capture. Not too bright and not too dim. Once it breaks the plane of the horizon it's over. So as in life you must be prepared are you miss out on a great opportunity.
